Title:A SURPRISE FOR HARRY (Script) by Eduard Meisel
Member: eduardmeisel
Showcase ID :68
Type:Script
Description: TITLE: A Surprise for Harry (Eine Ueberraschung fuer Harry)
GENRE: "Neo Film Noir" - MOW, or TV-Thriller in two parts
WRITER: Ed Meisel
LOCATION:
A small, successful advertising agency, and a few side scenes in a big
city – either here in Vienna (Austria, Europe), or, for the US-English
version, adaptable to any big Canadian or US city.
LOGLINE:
Harry, a man in his mid-forties, has achieved almost everything at the
cost of the women around him. His path of destruction has left Lisa
without her one great love, Angela with her career in tatters and
Christina facing financial ruin. However, when Harry's three victims
join forces to get back at their tormentor, the stage is set for all
hell to break loose! Against the backdrop of a satirized advertising
industry, the three women devise and execute a nightmarish plan that
will make Harry pay - for once and for all.
SYNOPSIS:
Once again, Angela, an ex-lover of Harry's, has enabled him a super job
as a photographer in a small but successful advertising agency, where
Harry soon becomes the junior-partner.
When the former top model Christina and her modeling agency are hired
by Harry’s company, Angela is quite surprised to learn that Christina,
too, is a former lover of Harry’s. All the more so, because Angela
still has hopes of winning over Harry’s affection (a hope that is kept
alive by Harry’s demeanor toward her).
When Harry plunks his lease equipment during a photo shooting, it is
Christina who helps him out, by taking out a loan for him so that he
can afford his dream camera equipment, as well as a brand new minivan.
As it turns out, Harry is actually in love with the young, attractive
Lisa, the ad agency's receptionist, who is also fancied by Michael, the
agency boss. When the Italian fashion designer Stefano Donatelli ap-
pears on the scene and seems to take Lisa's heart by storm, Harry suc-
cessfully thwarts the two lovers coming together by weaving a web of
intrigue.
On a business trip, Lisa becomes a mistress to both Harry and Michael.
However, shortly thereafter, she is stunned to learn about Harry's in-
trigues, and how genuine her revered fashion designer’s feelings toward
her had actually been.
Meanwhile, Harry drives to Passau (southern Germany) to join Chris-
tina's family for a funeral. While there, he discovers that Christina
is the mother of a little boy, Patrick, and that he (Harry) is the fa-
ther.
Harry then sees to it that his agency fires Christina, which initiates
her occupational demise. With the bank demanding repayment of the loan,
Christina becomes increasingly desperate, but Harry coldly brushes her
off when she asks him for help.

Shortly afterwards, Angela is also fired by the agency. When the three
women meet in a small cafe´ near the ad agency, they realize that each
has become a victim of Harry’s intrigues. Lisa, the only one who still
has a job in the agency, is now ready to play along with Harry’s and
Michael’s unsavory game – however, from now on according to new
rules...
With a series of nasty – and seemingly unexplainable – events now oc-
curring for Harry and Michael, the latter increases his love interest
for Lisa, while the very jealous Harry counters by seriously proposing
marriage to Lisa.
The three women are now ready to deliver the decisive blow to Harry.
During the wedding banquet, they see to it that Harry becomes heavily
drunk, and then get him to shoot at Michael with a handgun that they
have prepared for the occasion. Planned as a joke, as the women had
“made sure” the gun was loaded only with blanks, the shooting instead
leads to Michael’s death. Harry, still completely drunk, manages to es-
cape with the help of the three women, who hide him in a secret place.
With Lisa now acting the part of Harry's legal wife, which she in fact
now is, she takes over the agency and makes Christina and Angela her
partners.
The women drug Harry in his hideout, put him into a coffin, and have
him brought to a small cemetery in the country. With the help of fake
documents, the three have organized a “decent funeral” for Harry as
part of their plan. As a precaution, they also make sure to place a
cell phone in the coffin before Harry goes under.
When two homeless souls happen to hear the cell phone ring, they call
the police. Harry is rescued, but the police don't believe a word of
his story. He is brought to a hospital, where he is hooked up with
countless medical tubes. Soon, the three women visit him for the final
act...
